Mom, Uncle Bob, and Uncle Richard

This is a picture of Uncle Bob, Mom (Carol) and Uncle Richard. The kid on the right is a friend Richard Blue or Bert Collins. I told Mom they looked like gangsters. She said this was their Easter picture. It was taken in front of Grandma and Grandpa's restaurant in Red Oak, Iowa located on Coolbaugh street. Mom said the restuarant faced South. Her room was second window on alley side. Her parents room was across the front. They played games in alley, around the back and in front of the restaurant. One game was iron tag. The manhole covers were the bases. They were safe as long as they touched iron. Door handles, lamp posts, iron grates (used for coal) etc. were the safe bases. She said they also jumped rope. I'll have to find out some of their jump rope songs.
